Smart Glass Repair — Westlake Village Hospital
The conference-room glass walls and door switching between clear and frosted on a handheld remote.
Switchable glass is hard to believe in a photograph and obvious in a video. Below: real Los Angeles installs filmed on our own jobs, the technology explained, and what our crew actually does on install day.
Each video in the first section has its own page with a full-size player and the story of the job. Start with how the glass switches if you are still deciding what PDLC glass is. Written case studies for these jobs, with photos and scope, live in our projects gallery; pricing is broken down on the smart glass cost page.
Real jobs across Los Angeles and Southern California: front doors, conference rooms, bathrooms, offices and a storefront, each filmed on site.

The showroom's sliding glass doors switching between clear and frosted, panel by panel.

The conference-room glass wall switching from clear to frosted and back, filmed from inside the office.

The bathroom window switching from clear, with the hillside view, to frosted privacy and back.

Install-day footage in the practice as the crews set the sliding partition panels between the treatment rooms.

The boardroom's glass enclosure going from clear to fully frosted, seen from the conference table.

What smart film is and how it turns existing glass into switchable privacy glass.

Short videos that answer the questions we get on nearly every call: what the product is, how the switching happens, and where it belongs.
The mechanism behind every switchable panel we make. A polymer-dispersed liquid crystal layer sits sealed between sheets of glass. Power off, the crystals scatter light and the panel reads as even frosted white. Power on, they line up, light passes through, and the glass is clear — in under a second, as many times as you like.
A tour of the rooms switchable glass is built for. Conference walls that frost the moment a meeting turns private. Bathrooms that keep the window and the view. Street-facing living rooms that go private at night without losing daylight. Interior partitions that give privacy without building a solid wall.
Floor-to-ceiling glass gives you the view and takes away the privacy. Switchable glass gives you both: crystal clear when you want to see out, frosted the instant you don't. A short brand film on what the product actually does.
Our own jobs, filmed on site across LA and the neighboring counties. Conference rooms, front doors, bathrooms, a working laboratory and a gym floor — the openings people actually ask us about, switching on camera.
Three executive conference rooms at the AmaWaterways corporate office in Calabasas, retrofitted with switchable smart film over the existing partition glass. A wall switch takes each room from open-plan clear to fully frosted — no blinds, no curtains, nothing to clean.
The main conference room at a Westlake Village hospital, used daily for case reviews and physician meetings. One press on the handheld remote and the glass partition goes from open-plan clear to fully private, with the room still full of light.
A bay of bathroom windows around a freestanding tub in West Covina. Tap the switch and all three panes frost together, so the room keeps its natural light and loses the exposure.
A pair of glazed french doors in a Huntington Beach home, switched to privacy glass. This is the point people miss about switchable film: frosted, the glass still reads bright — it is the sightline that disappears, not the light.
A Santa Barbara corner meeting room wrapped in glass on two sides. Switchable smart film turns the whole corner private in one second, which is the difference between a room you can take a call in and a fishbowl.
What the install day actually looks like: our crew preparing the glass, laying the film, and wiring it back to a transformer. Useful if you want to know what you are letting into the house before you book it.
A full entry assembly — door and both sidelights — switched over to privacy glass. The longest install video we have published, and the best one for seeing how the finished result behaves in a real doorway.
A six-panel sliding glass divider at an energy company's Thousand Oaks corporate HQ. Leadership wanted to keep the existing system — the open sightlines matched their brand standard — but the room couldn't host confidential briefings while it stayed a fishbowl. We integrated 150 sq ft of switchable film into all six panels, run from a wireless remote.
185 sq ft of switchable film retrofitted onto the existing glazing of a Hidden Hills master suite. The room was already finished to a high standard, so pulling panes was never on the table. It reads as an open, light-filled volume by default and snaps to private at the wall switch.
A four-panel observation window above a lab bench, going clear to solid frosted at the press of a remote. The corridor sightline is how a supervisor checks a running experiment without opening the door — but some runs need to stay off display. 57 sq ft, bonded to the glass already in the frame.
The corridor side of the same laboratory window: a full view into the working lab, then a wall of soft, even white with the lab's light still glowing through it. Clear for oversight, frosted for focus — with no construction over a bench full of calibrated instruments.
A master bathroom at the edge of the home, with Santa Monica Mountain views on one side and obvious privacy problems on the other. The homeowner wanted an alternative to blinds that would keep the room's spa-like design. Her windows were in good condition, so the film went straight onto the existing glass.
A full-glass front door and the balcony panel beside it, 140 sq ft of switchable film on the existing glass. The old setup looked clean by day but needed outdoor curtains at night — which meant stepping outside every evening to close them. Now both surfaces frost together from one remote.
A townhouse bathroom window framing mature trees and a nearby lake, sitting directly above a dual-sink vanity — beautiful by day, exposed morning and evening. Frosted film or blinds would have killed the view permanently. 50 sq ft of switchable film, on a wall switch where the light switch already was.
200 sq ft of switchable film across the training-room and partition walls of a Ventura gym, retrofitted in a single visit. Static frosting would have killed the open, naturally-lit feel members responded to, and blinds collect sweat and dust in a gym. Eighteen months on it still switches cleanly.
40 sq ft of switchable PDLC film retrofitted onto the existing glazing — three tall street-facing living-room windows plus the sidelight beside the front door. One wireless remote runs two independent zones, so the entry can go private without touching the living room. The brief was to keep the open architectural look and the daylight, and still have privacy in a second.
60 sq ft of PDLC film across two full-height glass shower windows in one home — the primary suite and the secondary bath. Curtains and blinds are not an option over shower glass; they hold water and they never look right. The film sits on the glass itself, clear for the daylight and opaque on demand.
Around 60 sq ft of switchable PDLC film retrofitted onto a retail shop's ground-floor storefront windows, controlled from a mobile app. It answered three problems at once: afternoon heat on the sales floor, glare washing out the window display, and a way to make the front of the shop private for one-on-one consultations.
A closer look at the largest of the three rooms at the AmaWaterways corporate office in Calabasas: an extra-wide main boardroom enclosure going clear to frosted across its full run, with the two smaller conference rooms switching on their own. Open office when the floor should read as one space, private the moment a board session starts.
Under a minute each, for when you just want to see the glass change.
Twenty seconds of the thing itself: an office partition going from clear to frosted and back. If you only watch one clip to understand what you are buying, make it this one.
Our crew laminating a switchable panel at the Canoga Park facility. We fabricate the glass and install it with our own people, which is why the company that builds your panel is the company that warranties it.
A sliding glass conference-room partition going private on one tap — the short version of the whole pitch, and the most-watched clip on our channel. Glass, a button, and privacy that arrives faster than you can reach for a blind.
If the glass is already in your wall, smart film is almost certainly the product — it applies to the pane in place and most rooms are switchable in a day. If the glass is still being ordered, for a remodel, a new build, or a shower, smart glass panels are the better step up, because the PDLC layer is sealed inside the laminate at our facility. For an exterior opening where the window itself is being replaced, the picture window line delivers the whole assembly with certified thermal ratings.

Great service from start to finish. Beautiful work, very professional and helpful. They delivered on time, as promised and the smart glass installation in my Pasadena home went smoothly.
I like the smart film very much. It blocks the view we don’t want to see while the natural sun lights can go through. Smart film is a good product 👍👍👍

Very helpful owners. I needed 2 controllers for a non architectural application urgently and they were able to get them for me.
I had a great experience working with SMART VIEW Smart Glass & Film Solutions. A co‑worker recommended them after having her living room and kitchen done, and once I saw the video of her results, I knew I wanted the same. Getting privacy film installed on my windows turned out to be an excellent investment. It looks amazing, gives me the privacy I wanted, and I love that I no longer need curtains collecting dust. The office team was friendly and easy to work with, and the installation crew was professional, efficient, and very respectful of my home. I highly recommend their service.
