Project Overview
Smart glass bathroom Eagle Rock installations transform modern minimalist bathrooms into private retreats without blocking natural light or disrupting clean design. Smart View completed this installation on a beautifully designed all-white bathroom in Eagle Rock Los Angeles, upgrading the main window positioned directly behind the freestanding bathtub.
The window offered stunning neighborhood views and filled the space with natural light, but it created an obvious privacy challenge. The homeowner needed a solution that maintained openness and tranquility while delivering complete privacy on demand. Smart View installed custom PDLC smart film that delivers the same switchable privacy glass experience without replacing the original window.

Smart Glass vs Smart Film – What This Project Used
Most homeowners use the terms smart glass and smart film interchangeably, but there is a difference worth knowing. Smart glass is a complete glass panel with the switchable layer built in during manufacturing. Smart film is an adhesive layer applied directly to existing glass to convert it into switchable privacy glass.
This Eagle Rock project used smart film because the existing bathroom window was already in perfect condition. Retrofitting with smart film was faster, less invasive, and delivered the same clear-to-frosted performance as full smart glass replacement. Both options use identical PDLC technology and appear visually the same once installed.
